Principal's Message

Dear Grovetown High School Families, Students, and Community Members,
 
Welcome to Grovetown High School—home of the Warriors! As Principal, I am honored to lead a school that is rich in tradition, driven by excellence, and deeply committed to the success of each student. Whether you are returning for another exciting year or joining us for the first time, I want to extend a heartfelt welcome to each of you.
 
At Grovetown High, we believe that education is a partnership between school, home, and the broader community. Our mission is to provide a safe and supportive environment where each student engages in challenging content and receives high quality instruction resulting in academic and personal growth. We are proud of our dedicated faculty and staff who work tirelessly to inspire learning, Lead the Way, and support the personal growth of each student.
 
This year, we are focused on three key priorities:
 
Curriculum – a coherent, guaranteed, viable, and content-rich plan that ensures all students have time and access to essential, connected, and meaningful learning. This will include online learning through ALEKS and Progress Learning to provide students with extended learning outside of school. 
 
Daily integration of literacy strategies and complex literacy tasks. 
  1. Literacy strategies - techniques used to improve reading, writing, and comprehension skills
  2. Complex literacy task – one that requires a higher level of cognitive skill and strategic thinking to be able to respond to a text or other form of communication
 Effective, intentionally structured lessons – a well-planned learning experience with clear learning objectives, organized activities, opportunities for student engagement, and includes strategies for checking for understanding.  
 
We encourage all families to stay connected and involved. Attend our events, join our parent organizations, and communicate regularly with teachers and administrators. Your voice matters, and your support makes a tremendous difference in the lives of our students. As we embark on this new school year, I am filled with optimism and excitement for what lies ahead. Together, we will continue to build a school culture rooted in respect, responsibility, resilience and safety. Thank you for being an essential part of the Grovetown High School community.
